The Sound of Summer

Who says living in a city you won't get to hear the sounds of nature?

As I am sitting on my comfortable chair at my dinning table, and enjoying sipping my morning hot chocolate, while inhaling the crisp morning air infused with the sense of flora from my "dancer orchids", beside my laptop in my living-room, with the balcony door opened.  In the addition to the noise of traffic from the road, I am listening to "the sound of Summer".  As each wave of "symphony" goes, "the band" make some breaks and as they perform, some symphonies sound different from others.  Some are as usual as we already know how "the sound of Summer" goes, some remind me of "the sound of silent death".  "The sound of silent death" which I called it, because it comes out of the tail of the rattle snake.  Why did I call it such name? as we know, the tail of rattle snake starts to rattling like a baby's toy, as it tries to hypnotize its prey into sleep, before it kills its prey by the injection of its venom from its fangs, and swallow its poor prey as a whole.    It's strange for me to think the symphony "the sound of Summer" that way, but I couldn't relate it to any other better sounds out there.

I remember a summer 5 years ago, very clearly about the phenomenon of cicadas coming off the ground every 17 years to mate.  Yes, that was what they said all over the media at the time. My gosh! can you imagine - 17 years bury yourself in the ground?  And I wonder if it's true, the fact that cicadas only coming out after 17 years, then what am I listening to right now? Or not that they - the media -misunderstand them - the cicadas, yet, perhaps these guys who stay, refuse to go back to their "tombs"?  Why would they wanna hibernate for 17 years then come out and mate?  Why not just simply stay up here to spread their genes all they want?  Wouldn't that make more sense and of course more babies than you can ever ask for?

As my thoughts keep going about how beautiful the dancers orchids are, my ears keep listening to "the sound of Summer", my nose keeps enjoying the floral sense, my tongue keeps tasting the sweet-bitterness of my morning hot chocolate, my fingers keep touching my thoughts and I will leave it all to my senses to feel the beauties of life.

Yes, I am not a morning person, but

I LOOOVE MORNINGS...!!!
